A crash rated road blocker is a hydraulically operated security barrier that rises from the ground to block vehicle access. When a vehicle attempts unauthorized entry, the road blocker's heavy-duty steel plate destroys the vehicle's suspension, axles, and engine — stopping it with 0.0m penetration. The rating (K4, K8, K12) defines the vehicle speed it can stop.

K4 (M30) stops a 7,500 kg vehicle at 48 km/h; K8 (M40) stops a 7,900 kg vehicle at 64 km/h; K12 (M50) stops a 7,900 kg vehicle at 80 km/h. All models achieve 0.0m penetration. The key difference is threat level — K12 is required for military bases, embassies, and critical national infrastructure.

EFO (Emergency Fast Operation) is a high-speed response mode that raises the road blocker in 1 second (K4) or 1.5 seconds (K8/K12) during a security alert. This enables immediate lockdown without delay when a threat is detected, making it critical for high-risk installations such as embassies, checkpoints, and government facilities.

K4 road blockers require approximately 250 mm of foundation depth, K8 approximately 350 mm, and K12 approximately 1500 mm. The shallow-mount K4 and K8 models are ideal for retrofit projects and sites with underground utilities or limited excavation access.

Yes. All Secure Innovative crash rated road blockers are independently tested and certified to PAS 68, IWA 14, BIS, and DOS standards. Crash test certificates with penetration data are available on request for all three models.

Yes. All models support integration with access control systems, RFID readers, CCTV, intercom, and third-party security platforms. The electrical cabinet can be located separately from the blocker unit, giving flexibility in control room design.

The K4 model covers widths from 1,000 mm to 4,000 mm. The K8 and K12 models cover widths from 1,000 mm to 6,000 mm. Custom widths beyond the standard range are available through our engineering team — contact us with your site drawings.
